• B & B at Ponder Cove is an artist and pet-friendly B&B in the mountains about 25 minutes north of Asheville. It's a great place for artists and pet lovers to stay during an Asheville visit.

• Constance Humphries is a sensitive and evocative artist who creates powerful paintings and drawings.

• Genie Maples is an amazingly talented abstract artist whose studio is just down the hall from mine. Her works and her working method are the exact opposite of mine, and I have unbounded respect for both.

• Letters to a Young Poet, by Rainer Maria Rilke, is one of the most inspiring writings every for anyone who aspires to be any sort of artist. You can find them in many books, but here they are online.
