"I have always had a slightly warped sense of humor. Two decades in the Navy, listening to some of the sharpest sarcasm this country can produce, gave me a graduate-level course in political and social commentary. Once I picked up the paintbrush, it was only a matter of time before satire emerged in some of my pictures. One of my earliest art teachers saw these paintings and said, "You always were a smart-ass." I took that as a compliment. Here, then, are some of my favorites."
