"In 1996, I was part of the peacekeeping forces in Bosnia. This house was near the Sarajevo airport and was on the front lines between the Serbs and Muslims. One of the locals had written a satirical welcome on the side of the building. He was a brave man: the beautifully flowered field between the road and the house was heavily mined."
