Grand Re-Opening
Oil on canvas, 24"x30" (2006)
"During my time in Bosnia, the residents were just starting to repair their homes and businesses. Restaurants were among the very first businesses to re-open. The buildings often still had bullet acne, but a coat of paint and some inexpensive plastic furniture saved the day. A re-opened restaurant in a battle-torn town was a metaphor for the entire country."
